Today’s Action: Remove this president NOW

The violent action taken by right-wing MAGA extremists in Washington D.C. yesterday was a horrifying disgrace, a dark moment in our nation’s history. Mobs of armed Trump supporters raided the Capitol building, temporarily scattering the Congressional electoral college certification of President-elect Joe Biden, vandalizing federal property, terrorizing staffers and local residents, and leaving one woman dead.

They were aided and abetted by many members of the Capitol Police, who were caught on camera opening up barriers and taking selfies with extremists – a far cry from the RIOT-geared and brutally antagonistic scenes against Black Lives Matter peaceful protesters last summer. Law enforcement made a total of 13 arrests yesterday in D.C. (only 13, after angry mobs broke into our houses of Congress!), a clear display of white supremacy in policing when compared to the 17,000 arrests, many of them brutal, of predominantly BIPOC people across the country during the first two weeks of last summer’s non-violent protests.

But these extremists’ biggest advocate was the President himself. Trump has rejected democracy time and time again, and refused to commit to a peaceful transition of power upon the loss of the election, urged violent white supremacist groups to “stand back and stand by” for his signal. Yesterday, he gave that signal, and his minions responded horrifically.

Whether by rule of the 25th Amendment, which gives the Vice President and Cabinet the power to declare the President unfit to lead, or via the impeachment process in Congress, this tyrant must be ejected from the White House immediately.

Today.

Call (202.224.3121), email, tweet-at, and show up (with masks and social distancing, please!) at the offices of your Members of Congress TODAY and demand the immediate removal of this mad, white supremacist, violent dictator from the White House. Our leaders have two options: impeachment and/or the 25th Amendment.
