Tell Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski to vote NO on Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court

Throughout the Senate hearings for Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, ample evidence emerged suggesting he represents a clear and present danger to Americans — particularly women — and that was before the emergence of multiple credible allegations of sexual assault.

From Kavanaugh’s gaslighting about Roe v. Wade being “settled law” – a statement that has been shown to be meaningless – to his failure to respond to numerous instances of lying and misleading the Senate under oath to the credible testimony that he tried to rape Dr. Christine Blasey Ford in high school, it is beyond clear that this nominee has no business on any court much less the Supreme Court.

While Senate Republicans have proven they will continue to kowtow to an increasingly unpopular president for fear of drawing his ire, there are still two Republicans who identify as pro-choice moderates: Maine’s Susan Collins and Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski. With the Senate split 51 to 49 in favor of Republicans, those two Senators must defect if there is to be any chance of rejecting Kavanaugh.

We, the undersigned, demand that Collins and Murkowski put American women, their bodily autonomy, and the future of this democracy before partisan politics and vote against the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court.

This historic vote has the opportunity to shape this country for decades to come; it is incumbent upon these women to protect the ideals of this country – including the freedom for women to regulate their own bodies – before it’s too late.
