Today’s Action: End Trump’s Fake Emergency – the House votes tomorrow!

The House arrives back in D.C. tomorrow from March Recess, and while the Attorney General’s white wash of the Mueller report is getting all the ink, the first thing on the agenda is the #FakeNationalEmergency, which Trump declared last month to fund his racist border wall.

The will of the people is clear: Congress has twice voted against Trump’s wall, once by denying him the budget to build it and then passing legislation to end his manipulated and false state of emergency. With Trump’s veto of the latter, Congress now has the opportunity to override the veto with a 2/3rd majority.

The vote in the House is tomorrow. Call or email your Members of Congress TODAY and urge them to override Trump’s veto, thereby ending the Fake National Emergency and border wall funding.

It will take a big push to gather the 2/3rd majority vote required to overpower Trump’s veto – and that must be our first goal, starting with the House’s vote tomorrow.

But even if we do not succeed in overriding the veto, every extra Congressional vote in favor will support the multitude of court cases building against Trump’s wall and the state of emergency. That’s why it’s vital we make the extra effort today and tomorrow urging our reps to override the veto, particularly with the many Republicans who are uncomfortable with Trump’s irresponsible and dangerous abuse of power.

We’ve been chanting it since 2016 and we’re not stopping now: No Wall.

Email or call (202.224.3121) your Members of Congress and demand they override Trump’s veto and end the #FakeNationalEmergency. Remind them that voters and Congress have said no to the wall twice — and it’s time for the president to listen.
