Disbar Brett Kavanaugh for lying under oath during Senate Judiciary Committee hearing
Brett Kavanaugh is a liar.
While testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee against the woman who accused him of sexual assault, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Trump’s Supreme Court nominee demonstrated his glaring disdain for the truth on numerous occasions. With lies big and small, meant to shield his character and his reputation, Kavanaugh has instead shattered any semblance of honesty, disqualifying him from holding a seat on any bench, much less the Supreme Court of the United States.
Brett Kavanaugh claimed that a phrase in his yearbook, labeling him a “Renate Alumni,” a reference to then-Renate Schroeder, a student at a neighboring girls’ school, was “not relating to sex” but was instead a term of solidarity and “affection.”
“One thing in particular we were sad about, one of our good—one of our good female friends who we would admire and went to dances with had her name used on the year book page with the term alumnus. That yearbook reference was clumsily intended to show affection and that she was one of us. But in this circus, the media has determined the term was related to sex. It was not related to sex,” Kavanaugh said. That suggestion is so beyond ridiculous that it is insulting to think that he was being serious. A women’s name before the word “alumni” refers to sexual conquest. Do not be so easily fooled.
Kavanaugh suggested that his friends, including Leland Ingham Keyser, have refuted Dr. Ford’s allegations.
“My two male friends who were allegedly there, who knew me well, have told this committee under penalty of felony that they do not recall any such party and that I never did or would do anything like this. Dr. Ford’s allegation is not merely uncorroborated, it is refuted by the very people she says were there, including by a long-time friend of hers. Refuted,” Kavanaugh said.
But per the Washington Post, Keyser said that “she was close friends with Ford and that she believes Ford’s allegation.”
Kavanaugh lied to the committee about the definitions of “boofing” and “Devil’s Triangle,” phrases present in his yearbook that are telling in revealing the SCOTUS nominee’s character. He claimed that “boofing” is flatulence (it is not) and that the “Devil’s Triangle” is a drinking game (it is not). While perhaps acceptable that a young person would engage in these activities, to lie about it to the Senate Judiciary Committee is not.
The list goes on, but the patience of the American people and their willingness to be hoodwinked by an entitled, chauvinistic, dishonest, and petulant man has run out. We, the undersigned, demand that Brett Kavanaugh be disbarred for his disgusting behavior in the face of the Senate Judiciary Committee and no longer be allowed to practice law – for which he has personally shown contempt – in the United States of America.
