Today’s Action: Make Change by Electing Women!
It’s been a year and five months since we first learned of Trump’s “grab ‘em by the pussy” comments. (For those who really want cayenne in their coffee, here’s the full transcript.)
And although the 20-and-counting recorded victims of Trump’s sexual misconduct still have not received recompense for the abuse our President laid on them, the past year has shown the power of women uniting en masse against an administration and male-dominated power structure that has waged violent war against them.
Already, the 2018 election cycle has been named “Year of the Woman” with a record-breaking 575 women are running for Congress or Governor, and 75% of them are Democrats.
We’ve seen women bring down Hollywood moguls and entrenched politicians – so imagine what they could do in office.
From Women’s March to the #MeToo movement, women are showing up and making impact — and let’s not forget forerunner Black Lives Matter, which was founded by three women who single-handedly managed to change our country’s conversation about race.
Historically, Democrats don’t turnout for non-Presidential Elections like Republicans, so those elections tend to favor the GOP. This is the year, we’ll have to flip the script if we’re going to defeat Trump’s oppressive agenda.
