Florida school shooting survivors reveal why they didn’t go to Trump’s gun meeting
Since the shootings at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, a remarkable group of survivors has turned into an activist force determined to ensure that no one has to face the situation that they found themselves in, mourning 17 of their classmates and teachers slain by an AR-15 assault rifle.

Appearing on news programs, traveling to the state capital to lobby recalcitrant Republican legislators who would rather enact bans on pornography than any restrictions on deadly weapons, calling out NRA lobbyists and the Republican beneficiaries of their campaign donations by name, a number of the students have gained a measure of fame and name recognition with their high-profile efforts to force change.
