Friday, April 20th marks the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre. And tomorrow, tens of thousands of students, teachers, and parents across the country will leave their classrooms at 10 am for the National School Walkout to protest the lives lost due to gun violence in schools.
With nearly 2400 school walkouts planned across all 50 states, this student-organized walkout sends a clear signal to our leaders: change your gun laws, or we will replace you with those who will.

- Attend an event (if you are a student, parent, or teacher)
- Share info or images of your event on social media with the hashtag #NationalSchoolWalkout. Tag your Governor too!
- Call or email your Governor and State Legislators and demand the changes to gun laws recommended by the Gifford Law Center.
The current GOP-majority Congress has not passed a single gun reform law since the Parkland, Florida shooting that killed 17, or the 26 lives lost in Sutherland Springs, TX, or the 58 gunned down in Las Vegas. Their fate is sealed — this year, we vote them out and flip the House blue.
The tide is turning in our country, with progressive voices overturning GOP negligence in unprecedented ways at the state level. A dozen states are considering “extreme risk” or “red flag” laws to remove guns from those who pose threats. The Giffords Law Center shows exactly how each state can improve their laws: highlight these suggestions as you signal boost the National School Walkout!
