Tell McConnell: Follow your own rule! No Supreme Court vote until after the election!

With 237 days until the 2016 election, President Obama had a Supreme Court seat to fill. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell decried that the people needed to have a voice in the next Justice and refused to hold a vote on Obama’s nominee.

Now, a seat has opened up with just 131 days until Election Day and, in an extraordinary act of hypocrisy, McConnell is pledging to hold a vote on Trump’s nominee as quickly as possible.

Don’t let him get away with it! Demand the people have a chance to weigh in on the Senate that will confirm the next Justice before any hearings are held.

If Trump is able to push another Supreme Court Justice through this obsequious Senate before the people have spoken, we can be certain that the court will exacerbate his agenda of trampling on voting rights, minority rights, and women’s rights while giving more power to corporations and entrenched wealth over working people.

Refuse to allow it! McConnell set a precedent, and he — at the very least — should be bound by it.

Add your name to demand the Senate wait until after the elections to confirm the next Supreme Court Justice!
