Today’s Action: Include real climate action in budget reconciliation bill!

Climate disasters are worsening by the week. We have seen drought, flooding, and wildfires all across the globe. Over a million acres on the West Coast have been burned. Our national infrastructure has taken a beating, with roads collapsing and electrical wires melting.

Senate Democrats’ original $3.5 trillion budget proposal includes bold and necessary climate action but are being severely watered down (like much of the planet) to appeal to conservative and moderate Senators who aren’t even needed to pass a reconciliation bill.

With every negotiation, our timeline to pass meaningful climate action gets slimmer. We need our representatives to pass significant climate measures — and quickly. Our planet and our futures are at stake.

Call (202-224-3121) or email your representatives and demand they fight to keep significant climate measures in the budget reconciliation bill and pass it immediately!

This issue transcends party lines. Our legislators must come together to ensure the United States is doing everything in its power to stop and reverse the damage to our planet by years of unchecked natural resource exploitation.

The largest burden of this climate disaster will fall on the backs of working-class families and marginalized communities. But none of us will be spared the devastation.

Call (202-224-3121) or email your representatives and demand that they prioritize climate action this legislative session and pass meaningful climate initiatives! Remind them that the future of Earth depends on it.

PS — Please don’t forget to sign the petition demanding Trump testify for January 6th committee, and be sure to follow OD Action on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
