Today’s Action: Save Net Neutrality!
Net Neutrality: it’s what keeps internet providers from deciding which sites we get high speed access to and which sites are more difficult for us to use.
And on December 14th, it could be gone.
Ajit Pai, Trump’s new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman — and former Verizon attorney — has announced plans to dismantle the vital Obama era rules protecting internet freedom. As of now now, three of the five FCC members have indicated they will eliminate Net Neutrality.
Now is our chance to stop them. It’s absolutely critical that every one of us contacts the FCC today and demands they keep net neutrality.
Here are the three FCC members who are against internet freedom:
Ajit Pai – 202-518-7399, Ajit.Pai@fcc.gov
Michael O’Rielly – 301-657-9092, Mike.O’Rielly@fcc.gov
Brendan Carr – 202-719-7305, Brendan.Carr@fcc.gov
Call and email all three. If we can flip one, we save the internet. It’s that simple.
If Net Neutrality is eliminated, four telecom giants, including Verizon, all stand to benefit massively. Every consumer will lose, as corporations gain the power to determine what we consume — a change that could have devastating consequences on independent voices and allow Trump to pressure executives to silence his critics.
Don’t let them get away with it. Email and call the FCC’s Pai, O’Rielly, andCarr today. Demand net neutrality remain intact.
PS — Save the date for nationwide protests outside Verizon stores on December 7th!
PS — Please don’t forget to sign the petition telling Trump & Congress not to raise taxes on working families, and add your name to the Americans calling to charge Trump Attorney General Jeff Sessions with perjury and obstruction of justice!
