More on the virus…

Today’s Action: Urge Biden to stop the famine in Yemen!

President Biden has taken first steps toward ending U.S. support of the unconscionable Saudi Arabia-backed war in Yemen, which has killed nearly quarter of a million Yemenis since 2015 – mostly through indirect causes such as cutting off food and healthcare.

However, the U.S. is still backing a Saudi blockade preventing food and medical supplies from entering Yemen. Without immediate action, 400,000 Yemeni children under the age of 5 could die this year, and 16 million malnourished Yemeni civilians could find themselves on the brink of starvation.

Call or email your Members of Congress and demand they urge President Biden to use every available leverage with the Saudi regime to end the deadly blockade against Yemen. If they already signed onto the letter making these requests, thank them!

The Saudi blockade is also preventing fuel from entering the country. Hospitals depending on generators may need to shut down, and transportation to hospitals in this war zone will quickly become impossibly expensive for most.

The Yemen War is one of the biggest humanitarian crises of our lifetimes…and our tax dollars have been actively supporting it. As President Biden begins withdrawing U.S. participation, he must not stop halfway; a complete cessation of support is a matter of life-and-death for millions of Yemenis.

End the blockade.

Email or call (202.224.3121) your Members of Congress and tell them to push President Biden to end the US-backed Saudi blockade on Yemen IMMEDIATELY. Tens of thousands of Yemenis may die before negotiations even begin!
