Today’s Action: Stop the Tax Scam in the Senate
Yesterday, House Republicans passed a bill to move Trump’s Tax Scam forward. Republicans are now one step closer to handing corporations and millionaires $1.5 trillion in tax cuts, which they’re funding it by raising taxes on the middle-class, increasing the cost of homeownership, healthcare, and higher education — and increasing the debt by $1.7 trillion.
But the tax scam is far from law, and we still have a chance to stop it.
Now it’s the Senate’s turn and there is no time to delay. Call your Senators today and demand they do everything in their power to delay and stop Trump’s tax scam.
The Senate’s bill is unimaginably destructive. While still raising taxes on 20 million middle-class families like the Republican House bill, the Senate plans to sabotage Obamacare by removing the Affordable Care Act (ACA)’s individual mandate. If passed, an estimated 13 million will lose their health coverage.
The Senate’s bill also eliminates State and Local Tax (SALT) deductions, a vindictive attack on working families in blue states.
The result? A double assault on working-and-middle-class families, who will face both a rise in health insurance premiums and a tax hike. This bill exposes Republican economics for what it is: reckless and destructive.
