Today’s Action: Take action for Breonna Taylor

#SayHerName. Breonna Taylor was senselessly shot eight times by Louisville law enforcement, who broke down her door during an attempted drug sting (Breonna was not the target), nearly three months ago. Her killers have still not been arrested or charged.

1,945 Black people were killed by law enforcement between 2013-2019. This number does not include acts of police violence that did NOT end in death, or the number of Black people, like Ahmaud Arbery, who were lynched by civilians or retired law enforcement.

National outcry over George Floyd’s and Ahmaud Arbery’s deaths has finally resulted in the arrests and charges against their murderers. But justice for Breonna Taylor is still unanswered, like the hundreds of Black people killed by our law enforcement off-camera each year.

Bring Breonna Taylor’s killers to justice by contacting Kentucky leaders who have the power to arrest and charge the officers:

  1. Call (502-696-5300) email (, and/or tweet at Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron
  2. Email ( and/or tweet at Louisville Deputy Chief of Police Robert Schroeder
  3. Call ((502) 574-2003) email (, and/or tweet at Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer
  4. Donate to support Breonna’s family’s legal fund and/or the Louisville Community Bail Fund to assist those arrested while protesting on her behalf.

We must continue to press against the normalization of our law enforcement’s dismissal of Black lives and refusal to hold officers accountable for reckless violence. Take action today for Breonna, and for all Black Americans.

The Poor People’s Campaign is calling for a National Moment of Silence for George Floyd, whose death sparked the national protests, TODAY at 5 pm EST / 2 pm PST. Stop wherever you are in public or in your home and kneel for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. For more information, to pledge your participation and join the livestream, visit The Poor People’s Campaign.
