Today’s Action: Flip Virginia Blue on November 5!

We’re less than three weeks away from a game-changing Democratic opportunity in the South…and we need everyone in on the momentum to make it happen.

One of the biggest victories in 2017 was our work in Virginia, where Democrats banked 15 seats in the House of Delegates, coming within literally one vote of flipping the legislature. With Trump’s recent all-time-low approval rating in the state, seizing complete Democratic control in the Southern state has never been closer!

Virginians have faced severe GOP gerrymandering since 2010, but they’ll be redistricting after the 2020 census. Progressive leaders drawing fresh, fair district lines would mean fairer (and more therefore more Democratic) representation across at the state level and in Congress.

Winning big in Virginia on November 5 could have national consequences that affect us all. With the second-most restrictive voter ID laws in the nation, a progressive majority would be able to overturn these oppressive laws…empowering multitudes of Virginians to exercise their right to make their voices heard, with the added benefit of adding about four more Democrats in the House of Representatives!

Overall, voter turnout in non-Presidential year elections are always lower – and these elections tend to favor Republicans, who tend to show up in stronger numbers. But with the past two election cycles in Virginia fueled by Blue Waves, flipping their House of Delegates and State Senate isn’t just a possibility, it’s a strong one!

Virginia needs Democratic voters to win this election, and we can all help them get there.
