Today’s Action: Cure ballots in North Carolina and California – time sensitive!!

Although the presidential race has been called for Joe Biden, we certainly aren’t out of election season yet. Several Senate and House races are up in the air, as well as key state races that don’t just impact the lives of locals but inevitably have national impact.

And in every election, thousands of Democratic ballots get rejected, whether by simple mistakes (ex: missing a signature) or straight-up voter suppression (ex: questionable signature-matching calls). But some states allow voters to fix ballot problems and still have their votes counted, as long as it’s done before the state’s deadline.

Today, we’re focusing on two incredibly tight races: Supreme Court Chief Justice Cheri Beasley’s re-election in North Carolina and Democrat Christy Smith’s bid for House of Representatives.

Sign up for a ballot curing shift ASAP to turn every rejected blue ballot into a tallied vote for Democratic values. Start with North Carolina, then move to California’s 25th District in order of deadlines.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Cheri Beasley was the first Black woman to win any North Carolina statewide office without first being appointed. She’s focused on tackling racism in the criminal justice system…while her opponent doesn’t it’s even relevant to examine. But she’s currently trailing by about 2500 votes, so every ballot-cure counts!

Democrat Christy Smith is taking on Republican incumbent Mike Garcia for California’s 25th District House seat, covering an area in Northern Los Angeles County…and right now she’s down by 159 votes out of more than 330,000. Our majority in the House has tightened considerably, but CA-25 is one of the few races that would still be a flip for us. We want her voice for critical votes on climate change, education, and campaign financing!

Let’s push every voter over the finish line, even those not in your state!

Call Democratic voters in North Carolina and California’s 25th District whose ballots were rejected for errors and help them complete their vote! North Carolina’s deadline is TOMORROW!
