Today’s action: Save the date for October Democratic debates!

The fourth round of Democratic debates are coming up, and with Trump under impeachment investigation, it could not be more timely or vital to hear from those campaigning to face off against him in 2020.

The October debates will feature front-runners Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, and Bernie Sanders alongside the other third debate participants, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julián Castro, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, and Andrew Yang. For introductions to each, check out our OD Action candidate profiles! Plus, joining the stage after a hiatus from the September debates is Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and billionaire activist Tom Steyer makes his debate debut.

The November debates will have stricter qualification measurements – so the October debates may be several candidates’ last chance to shine. It’s critical we watch and pay close attention to examine each candidate at face value and really understand where they stand on progressive issues…because we want the best candidates to thrive!

Save the date for the Saturday, October 12 Democratic presidential candidate debate at 8 pm EST, hosted by CNN and The New York Times. Make it fun by hosting a watch-party with your friends and family!

We need a new president. But we don’t want just *any* new president. Just as the Great Depression opened up the doors for FDR and a generation of real progressive reforms, this new Trumpian rock bottom provides an opportunity to elect a president who will truly push America forward on issues like combating climate change, implementing a strong, compassionate imigration policy, valuing women’s and minority rights, enacting tax policies that expand opportunity and benefit the majority of American (not just billionaires and corporations), and so much more.

And just as importantly, we need voters who are fired up. We need Democrats who don’t *just* show up on Election Day (we need that, for sure), but who are also inspired to make phone calls, canvass for candidates, register voters, and donate to help push a Democratic president across the finish line next November.

All of this begins with watching the debates, which helps us sort out whom to rally behind and how we want to be involved. So gather your friends and a few snacks and beverages…and raise a glass to the 2020 election season.

Mark your calendar for the fourth Democratic presidential candidate debate, Saturday, October 12 at 8 pm, hosted by CNN and The New York Times. Send out an email today to invite your friends and family to join you for the debate!

PS — Please don’t forget to sign the petition to tell Congress to investigate Pence after transcripts show he was complicit in the president’s crimes, and check out the brilliant “Don’t Think of an Elephant” by George Lakoff — a quick read that contains the ultimate keys for Democrats to win elections — and arguments.
